In this pivotal role, the Senior Solutions Architect will serve as the primary technical leader for our Commercial sales team, engaging directly with a multitude of mid-market prospects and clients. You will showcase the value of Temporal Cloud, emphasizing its critical role as the orchestration layer for modern applications, including the rapidly evolving AI and agentic workflow domains. Your influence will extend across the entire customer journey, from initial technical evaluations to post-sales expansion, making you a key player in our growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage fast-paced sales cycles while effectively handling multiple prospects and customers.
• Guide prospects in evaluating Temporal Cloud against alternatives, particularly emphasizing AI/ML and agentic applications.
• Support pre-sales technical evaluations and identify post-sales expansion opportunities within our consumption-based model.
• Collaborate with Account Executives to develop strategic account plans, offering technical insights on opportunity sizing and use case suitability.
• Build and maintain relationships with customer technical decision-makers, creating pathways for expanding production applications utilizing Temporal.
• Prioritize tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment, distinguishing between urgent and important customer needs.

What You Bring:

• Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones preferred; Temporal operates remotely.
• Strong development background with hands-on coding experience, primarily engaging with developer audiences.
• Exceptional time management and prioritization skills, adept in high-volume settings with frequent context switching.
• Passion for AI/ML technologies, proficiency with AI/LLM tools, and a strong desire to explore emerging use cases.
• Excellent technical communication skills and ability to build application prototypes using supported languages such as Java, Go, TypeScript, or Python.
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems, production operations (security, reliability, performance), and cloud provider services.
• Capacity to offer architectural guidance on application patterns and platform architectures, acting as a technical consultant to sales teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/ML orchestration, workflow management, or related technologies.
• Flourishes in fast-paced, changing environments and stays updated on emerging technologies.
• Strong collaboration skills with customer engineering teams, serving as an effective technical mentor.
• Familiarity with conveying the value of a commercial SaaS solution in comparison to open-source alternatives (e.g., Redis, Kafka, Databricks).
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, acting as a technical bridge between customers and internal teams.

Compensation:

The estimated on-target earnings (OTE) for this position range from $200,000 to $250,000, including a base salary and variable compensation structured at a 70/30 split. This role also offers participation in Temporal's equity plan.
