Job Description/Accountabilities

Reporting to the Core RMP Lead, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a new Risk Marketplace team responsible for fulfilling the 1B mandate by providing guidance on and participating in the identification, measurement, management, treatment, and reporting of risks, emerging issues, and regulatory changes. Through building strong relationships and developing a thorough understanding of the platform's objectives and strategy, the successful candidate will act as a trusted partner and proactively identify, challenge, document, and communicate risks in a manner which enables the entire platform team to make faster and better decisions while operating within TD's Risk Appetite.
This successful candidate will demonstrate a balance of risk and business acumen in order to guide the Platform teams as they navigate through complex risk domains and regulatory requirements. A key component of the role is to foster and effectively manage relationships with Risk & Control Partners (Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Operational Risk, Fraud, GAML, Technology Risk, and others) to ensure alignment to the broader organization from a policy and compliance perspective while also leveraging their knowledge and expertise to ensure partner interactions are efficient, effective, and timely.
  • Own the risk/compliance oversight for assigned product groups/pods; finding the right balance between risk and reward, in conjunction with both internal stakeholders and risk partners
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Servicing Platform capabilities with an emphasis on understanding the interplay between various capabilities as well as business segment/journey impact.
  • Actively engage 2nd line partners (ORM, GAML, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Fraud and others as may be necessary) to review identified feature/project risks and planned controls to gain buy-in
  • Support timely sign offs from Risk & Control partners on requirements, processes and/or other artifacts, as required, to support implementation activities
  • Execute against pre-determined deliverables/requirements within the, whilst operating under TD Scaled Agility methodology
  • Actively monitor any trends, findings, action plans to address gaps or identified remediation activities
  • Be responsible for ensuring the RMP and Core Platform product groups/pods execute against the NEW Delivery Execution Framework requirements, including the timely identification, management and reporting of risk issues in JIRA Participate in identifying opportunities to continuously improve the team and the overall RMP Practice within the Bank.

Department Overview

The Platforms & Technology Governance team is a dynamic, innovative, and diverse team of professionals with a North American mandate to provide partnership, challenge and support on all key areas for covered businesses.
We develop and implement TD's risk management strategies, policies, reporting and operating frameworks, regulatory affairs and operations. We assess operational, enterprise risks, and regulatory affairs throughout TD's footprint to ensure Bank has an effective operational risk management program within its risk appetite. We continuously partner effectively with our Risk and Control partners and provide guidance, advice and support to businesses to help them achieve their strategic goals and priorities while acting within Risk Appetite and in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar function, preferably in the Financial Industry
  • Strong critical thinking and risk management skills
  • Relationship Management skills and the ability to effectively negotiate outcomes
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely resolution
  • Ability to navigate and continuously move forward in an ambiguous environment
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant work experience.
