Lead In-Process Quality Inspector

Saab, Inc. is experiencing growth and looking for a Lead In-Process Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and compliance of our assembly processes, and we invite you to contribute your expertise.

• Authorize assembly process completion and assist the build team through critical in-process inspections.

• Ensure that products meet rigorous requirements as defined by engineering drawings through visual and dimensional validation.

• Inspect for a variety of defects across surfaces, fasteners, sealant, paint, and test results.

• Compile and present technical data and reports to communicate final inspection outcomes and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop deviation reports and represent quality interests at the Material Review Board.

• Oversee non-conforming material processes and implement relevant procedures.

• Deliver high-quality workmanship in inspection processes for structural assembly and system installations.

• Become a subject matter expert in our quality management systems, ensuring compliance with standards.

• Participate in tooling validation to optimize both product quality and production efficiency.

• Standardize working procedures to enhance consistency and repeatability across processes.

Compensation Range: $28.08 - $33.70 per hour. This range serves as a guideline and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.

Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certification in electro/mechanical assembly is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of qualified inspection experience within a manufacturing setting.

• Familiar with ISO/AS9100 standards and highly standardized processes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in both written and digital formats.

• Skilled in executing appropriate methodologies and selecting tools to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.

• Ability to adhere to standardized procedures conducive to high repetition in a highly technical environment.

• Exceptional teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periods.

• Able to perform physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, and reaching throughout a normal workday.

• Courageous in repetitive actions (lifting, assembly) including the proficient use of hand-held power tools.

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

• Must have normal hearing and vision capabilities for effective communication and understanding of directives.

• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
