Tier 3 Database Engineer

Responsibilities of the Tier 3 Database Engineer include:
- Design & develop database applications using PL/SQL, ensuring scalability & reliability
- Optimize performance & troubleshoot issues; writing SQL queries & resolving database-related problems
- Collaborate across teams - working closely with developers, administrators, & stakeholders
- Ensure data integrity & security, applying best practices to safeguard data & maintain compliance
- Maintain documentation & standards, document database architecture, design decisions & changes to ensure transparency & continuity
- Stay current with technologies, keep up with emerging trends in database development, cloud platforms, & automation tools like VBA & Unix scripting
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering - proven track record in designing, developing, & maintaining complex database systems in enterprise environments
- Advanced expertise in writing & optimizing PL/SQL code, with deep knowledge of Oracle database internals & tuning techniques
- Experience configuring & deploying MongoDB
- Strong Unix/Linux scripting abilities for system operations & VBA automation tasks, enhancing database efficiency & workflow integration
- Hands-on experience with multiple database platforms, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, & DynamoDB, including replication & high-availability tools like Goldengate & Data Guard
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Services, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), and basic web development using HTML/CSS
- Active Top Secret or DOE Q clearance
- Salary Range: $160,000-$175,000 depending on experience
