Material Handler, 2nd Shift, Full-Time, CDC Pallet

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Team Material Handler position will ensure that the correct materials are received and delivered to their designated area in accordance with the production/shipping schedule. The Team Material Handler works under the direct supervision of their Team Manager. Employees within this classification perform all duties and responsibilities associated within assigned team focusing on the goals, objectives and priorities of the facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs all material handling duties and responsibilities associated with a manufacturing/warehouse team. Palletizes materials, as necessary, within staging or production areas. Completes all necessary documentation including marking cases and pallet identification. Packs raw material and finished stock export items for shipment in accordance with destination requirements and forwards paperwork to office for document preparation. Receives, repairs and replaces damaged cases from customers and within warehouse, completes paperwork required on all returned goods. Rotates stock as required.
  2. Maintains an accident free industrial powered vehicle license by safely Operating powered lift trucks to transport materials to and from staging/manufacturing area, warehouse, shipping area and/or trucks, per production/shipment schedule. Performs daily safety inspection of forklift.
  3. Follows standard operating procedures for inventory control and accuracy by utilizing Warehouse Management System: Scan locations, tracks inventory, and performs cycle counts.
  4. Follows standard work methods including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and practices safe work habits. Continually inspects for quality in accordance with established procedures.
  5. Must learn various jobs and duties as a Team Material Handler employee and participate in team problem solving to strive for continuous. Must work in a team environment and take day to day direction from assigned leader or coordinator.
  6. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition in accordance 5s/5m and standard operating procedures.
  7. Complies with Federal and State hazardous waste regulations including proper handling, storing, labeling, and familiarity with Crayola Emergency Action Procedure in the event of a spill or leak.
  8. In accordance with Crayola’s Desired Culture, must actively participate in Team Development and Continuous Improvement initiatives by attending meetings, communicating information, and providing input.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing or similar repetitive assembly experience preferred.
  • Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job (listed below).
  • Must be competent in basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and fractions.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Must have the ability to work alone with minimum supervision/direction.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
