Schedule Details/Additional Information:

$10,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Eligible with distance-based relocation available AND $2,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Eligible for PM Shifts at ASLMC

Join our dynamic OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin and home to a dedicated 24/7 on-site heart-care team.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shift with 8 or 10-hour shifts, primarily Monday to Friday, including on-call duties mostly overnight and weekends within an 8-week schedule.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment to ensure optimal patient care, utilizing aseptic surgical techniques to prepare materials and instruments for surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various surgical procedures while supporting the surgical team.
  • Ensure the operating room's cleanliness, safety, and efficiency by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile field during surgeries.
  • Assist as a Second Assistant when needed and promptly address equipment or supply issues.
  • Transport patients and manage supply inventory effectively.
  • Show a strong understanding of patient age-specific needs and adapt care accordingly.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 6 months unless otherwise determined by the department leader.

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, and transferring patients.
  • Exposure to various workplace hazards including mechanical, electrical, and biological.
  • Must have functional sight and hearing capabilities.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
