Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves significant contributions to a wide range of civil and site development projects. You will engage in initiatives that include enhancing community parks, improving transportation systems, and developing campus infrastructure. You will also gain the opportunity to work on crucial elements such as stormwater management and utility design. This position offers a chance to collaborate with a talented team of architects, engineers, and other professionals, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the civil design process for diverse site development and infrastructure projects, focusing on areas such as roadway design, grading, drainage, utilities, site layout, and erosion control.
  • Manage the creation of conceptual plans, construction drawings, specifications, design reports, calculations, cost estimates, and permit packages, including SWPPPs and stormwater management plans.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior team members to address design challenges and provide construction support.
  • Mentor and supervise junior design staff, reviewing their work and facilitating their professional development.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and verify adherence to design specifications.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and project teams, effectively communicating technical information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of professional experience in civil/site engineering.
  • NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation; experience with HydroCAD or similar software is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to working across disciplines.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods and administration.
  • Knowledge of local codes, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks in New York State.
