Job Summary:
As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will be a vital caregiver for residents in long-term care. Your responsibilities will include delivering resident-centered nursing care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a supportive environment under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). You will be accountable for following infection control policies and delivering age-appropriate care based on established care plans.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting residents with daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Obtaining and recording vital signs while providing support for emotional and psychological needs.
- Helping with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Engaging residents during meal times and assisting with food preparation to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Documenting care interactions and communicating any changes in resident conditions to nursing staff.
- Supporting housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean and operational living spaces.
- Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational activities for residents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age of 16 required.
- Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
- Must have a required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program.
- Annual completion of continuing education credits and department-specific competency testing.
