Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and company-owned equipment following all regulations.
• Carry out quality preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles, adhering to company standards.
• Execute necessary maintenance repairs to enhance safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly and efficiently.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to meet manufacturer specifications across various systems (engines, transmissions, etc.).
• Document all work performed on maintenance orders.
• Become proficient in Sysco computer programs and diagnostic tools.
• Perform electrical meter testing and manage controls and electric systems.
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
• Preferred Experience:
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training.
  • 1 year of experience with a 2-year technical degree or 3 years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Preferred Certifications:
  • Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge
  • Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge
  • ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred)
  • 609 HVAC Refrigeration Certification
  • Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs
• The technician must provide their own tools necessary for maintenance and diagnostics; major tools and diagnostic equipment are provided by Sysco.
