Looking for a dependable, active role with a consistent schedule and a great team? Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Part-Time Warehouse Utility Associate at our Columbia, MD Distribution Center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, staying organized, and supporting sales teams by keeping product flowing smoothly. You'll help maintain inventory accuracy, rotate stock, and prepare product orders - all while working roughly 28 hours per week day shift in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and close the distribution center as scheduled.

  • Unload trailers and verify incoming inventory for accuracy.

  • Rotate product to maintain freshness and maximize shelf life.

  • Pull and prepare product to fill daily and extra sales orders.

  • Maintain accurate daily inventory using handheld devices.

  • Accept and process return-to-stock, stale, and damaged product.

  • Load trailers with returned cardboard and damaged goods.

  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as cleaning and mowing when needed.


Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a DOT Medical Card.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate inventory management.

  • Basic math and writing skills to track and record inventory.

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions related to inventory needs.

  • Effective verbal communication and ability to follow written directions.

  • Must be able to operate a route sales step van safely and competently.

  • Comfortable using proper lifting techniques and able to transport products.

Job Requirements

  • Organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory records and rotation of product at the distribution center.
  • Basic math and writing skills necessary to track, count, and record information.
  • Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
  • Requires an ability to communicate through speech, vision and hearing.
  • Must be able and eligible to safely operate and maintain required equipment to fulfill warehousing responsibilities.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Requires a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van in a safe and competent manner.
  • Requires proper lifting techniques with an ability to lift, carry, and transport products.
  • Must be able to safely lift, pull, push, and carry up to 80 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to temperature extremes including working in conditions with dust, humidity, fumes, and various allergens.
  • Indoor/outdoor environment.
  • Slippery floors.
  • Requires require an ability to sit, talk, bend, stand twist frequently and for long periods. Using hands for simple grasping.
  • Personal Protective Equipment usage where required.
