What You'll Do as a Hospice Spiritual Care Provider:

• Offer spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers in a manner that aligns with their personal beliefs and values.
• Provide non-denominational, inclusive care that respects diverse faiths and cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborate as a key team member, participating in patient care conferences alongside nurses, social workers, aides, and medical staff.
• Assess spiritual needs and create individualized spiritual care plans for patients and families.
• Conduct visits, prayers, blessings, and rituals as requested by patients or families.
• Support families during times of grief and loss and provide bereavement counseling.
• Establish connections with local faith leaders and community resources to address the unique spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of spiritual assessments and interventions.

About You

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following educational requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in theology, religion, human services, counseling, psychology, or sociology (or as required by state-specific regulations).
• Completion of at least one unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
