About the role:

Abyss is looking for a Project Engineer to support our Oil & Gas projects. As a Project Engineer, your focus is on supporting Application Engineers with their customer initiatives and projects. These projects are focused on using our integrity analytics product to enhance traditional inspection and maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for technology. As a Project Engineer, you will act as a technical, individual contributor delivering projects; this includes, but is not limited to, technical engineering review of results generated by automated systems, generating reports, supporting projects, and doing production work to generate deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Evaluation: Review visual data against engineering standards to generate condition assessment insights. This includes technical writing required to detail all results and associated engineering reasoning.
  2. Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis, interpret deliverables, and provide meaningful insights to help clients understand the implications of the data for their operations and strategic goals.
  3. Reporting and Communication: Create and deliver presentations, reports, and progress updates to keep all stakeholders informed about project status.
  4. CAD & Dimensional Analyses: Use CAD and other software to conduct dimensional analyses or recreate engineering drawings from visual data.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with product development, marketing, and customer success teams to stay updated on product features, enhancements, and market trends.
  6. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, project plans, and customer interactions, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  7. Project Scoping: Support project managers in clearly defining needed deliverables, and clarifying scope timely delivery by following account projects and deliverables as they progress through the processing pipeline.
  8. Customer Service: Support customer post-sales activity to ensure recurring business.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  2. 1 to 5 years of engineering experience in structural engineering, infrastructure design, or oil & gas. Experience in a sales support or client-facing role is highly desirable.
  3. Experience with CMMS, IDMS, ERP, and anomaly tracking software is a plus.
  4. Excellent understanding of project management principles and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  6. Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  8. Strong attention to quality assurance processes and standards.
  9. Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in creating presentations and reports.
