Job Description:
Key Responsibilities & Skillsets:
• Common Skillsets:
o Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
o Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision
o good communication skill for client interact
Application development Skillsets:
o Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
o A systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
o Ability to quickly pickup and understand where newly released cloud services would be appropriate for business applications
o Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform
o Working knowledge of pipeline-automation tools such as Jenkins, CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or other comparable tools
o Experience using Git for source control management
o Ability to proficiently write code in Python, Node.js, Bash (shell), PowerShell, or other similar languages
o Experience using Docker within container orchestration platforms such as AWS ECS, EKS, Google Anthos, or others
o Comfortable in a Linux environment
o Understanding of foundational AWS services such as VPCs, EC2, S3, RDS, Auto Scaling Groups, CloudWatch Logs, etc.
o In-depth knowledge of security and IAM within AWS, including the management and operation of Security Groups, KMS Keys, VPC NACLs, and SCPs
o Familiar with ETL and big data tool-chains such as those provided by Hadoop/EMR, Glue, Spark, Impala, or similar
o Understanding of relational database systems and how applications interact with them
o Familiarity with one or more log and event aggregation and monitoring systems such as Splunk, Elasticsearch (ELK), Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas welcome to apply
• 7+ years' experience in AWS Data Engineering, preferably in Life Insurance but not mandatory
• Application development experience
• Team Management
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
• Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
• Preferably based out of the New Jersey area with at least two days of work from office at the client's location
