We are accepting applications for Civil Engineering Internship opportunities for our Summer 2026 internship program. Our Eichleay teammates will participate onsite and virtually at several career fair events this fall to speak with students who are passionate about engineering and who seek to explore a rewarding internship with Eichleay.

We work primarily in the Western US with offices in Larkspur, CA, Orange, CA, Billings, MT and Ferndale, WA. Work schedules include every other Friday off. All roles will require in-person interactions, including but not limited to events, field visits, office-based team meetings.

We welcome interns interested in learning, growing, and applying engineering skills across diverse industries in a multidisciplinary environment. You will work alongside senior leadership, receive training through on-the-job assignments using technical skills acquired in college and build new long-lasting relationships.

The Engineering Internship Program at Eichleay is designed for emerging engineers. The goal of our program is to provide exposure to a variety of project work and build critical skills including communication, teamwork, collaboration, time management and problem solving.

Each intern will have a supervisor and buddy to provide technical support and career advice. Interns will have an opportunity to participate in field visits to various industrial/lab facilities, engage in social activities with our Emerging Professionals network, and attend various panel sessions and lunch and learn events to further enhance their understanding of what we do and what career opportunities may exist at Eichleay. At the end of the internship, each intern will have an opportunity to do a final presentation to Eichleay management, highlighting their experiences and learnings during the internship. Interns will also have an opportunity to participate in a performance evaluation with their supervisor.

Basic Requirements:
  • You have legal authorization to work in the United States for Eichleay without the need of sponsorship in the future.
  • You are attending and currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • You have successfully completed at least 1 engineering specific course.
  • You are available for a minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks for the internship. Dates may fall between May 2026 and September 2026.
  • You are available to start the internship program either mid-May or mid-June 2026.
  • You have a minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Your previous internships, co-ops or direct working experience were in an engineering field.

  • While performing duties of this job, you would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear (this includes being able to hear and talk on site-based communication equipment), distinguish between various colors, be able to hear safety tones/notifications, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, temperature or controls.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Job duties will generally be performed in a home office or office environment, but may require travel to visit a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site.
  • May be assigned to work at a client's office, facility or site for an extended period of time. Conditions and/or schedule will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply. When performing work outside Eichleay and/or Client as required.
  • Candidates will be required to follow our clients' site-based rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases.
