Position Title: Journeyperson Plumber

Position Summary

Journeyman Plumber provides skilled plumbing services for residential and commercial systems with a focus on plumbing installations. This role involves supervising and training apprentice plumbers, ensuring all work meets local plumbing codes and safety standards. The Journeyman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, fixtures, and equipment related to water, drainage, gas, and heating

Essential Functions
  • Lead, train, and mentor apprentice Plumbers.
  • Independently assemble, install, maintain and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specification and plumbing codes
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs in line with work orders and best practices. Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including waters heaters, waters softeners, residential plumbing fixtures etc.
  • Install/repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water usage
  • Inspect completed work to ensure high quality and cleanliness
  • Work with customers and supervisors to ensure project completion has met or exceeded customer expectations
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions; immediately report non-correctable hazards to supervision
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Received and complete daily work orders efficiently.
  • Maintains accurate records of labor and materials used on projects.
  • Helps manage inventory of tools, equipment and materials
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards; maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Provide cross-functional support in other trade areas or during staff shortages and participate in light construction projects as needed

Requirements

  • Valid Massachusetts Journey Plumber license
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to operate company vehicles
  • Experience with plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance techniques
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Solid mathematical and problem-solving skills•
  • Proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment, including pipe benders, torches, and hand/power tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance in all aspects of work

Salary Description

$30-$50 per hour
