Position Overview:
Greater Chicago Specialty Physicians (GCSP) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Medical Assistant to support our providers and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered medical environment.
This role is critical to clinic flow, patient satisfaction, and provider efficiency. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, pays close attention to accuracy and compliance, and consistently demonstrates professionalism and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
- Room patients promptly and efficiently.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits and procedures.
- Administer injections and perform clinical tasks within scope of certification and training.
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as required.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation of lab specimens.
- Maintain infection control and OSHA standards at all times.
- Enter and update patient information accurately in the EMR.
- Assist with chart preparation, referrals, prior authorizations, and provider requests.
- Ensure all documentation is completed timely and with attention to detail.
- Follow clinical protocols, policies, and compliance requirements consistently.
- Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
- Educate patients on procedures, instructions, and follow-up care as directed.
- Address patient concerns promptly and escalate when appropriate.
- Assist with clinic flow to minimize patient wait times.
- Stock and maintain exam rooms and medical supplies.
- Support front desk and clinical team as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Adhere to assigned schedules and be punctual and dependable.
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
- Ability to travel to our Oakbrook Terrace office twice a month
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Multispecialty or specialty practice experience.
- Phlebotomy and injection experience.
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
- Spanish speaking is a plus
