Responsibilities
Provide support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.
- Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determine the situation, and develop a plan of action.
- Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehends the severity of the injury.
- Monitor patient condition and performs data collection. Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).
- Assist with the mobilization, ambulation, and transport of patients.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician
(NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. - Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior
to hire date or job transfer date.
- Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. With acceptable driving
record - Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
