Schedule/Hours:
Full-time, evening shift with either 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, including call responsibilities—primarily overnight call with varying hours based on staffing needs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment conducive to optimal patient care through aseptic surgical techniques.
• Assist in all types of procedures and maintain a solid understanding of various surgical practices.
• Prepare operating rooms, ensuring environmental safety and readiness for each procedure.
• Function as a second assistant when needed, facilitating smooth procedures.
• Notify staff regarding equipment and supply issues to maintain operational efficiency.
• Transport patients and equipment as required, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain the completeness of specialty carts and items, checking conditions and ensuring their availability.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care by assessing patient needs.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months unless exempted by the department leader.
• Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology is required.
• No previous experience is needed.

Required Skills:

• Understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with operating room equipment.
• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Commitment to ongoing education and certification maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of push/pull actions with up to 30 lbs. of force.
• Must demonstrate functional sight and hearing abilities.
