Position Overview:

The Clinical Operations Medical Director will provide leadership and guidance to the Clinical Directors in the designated market. This role is accountable for improving clinical outcomes, financial growth, and establishing a healthy organizational culture. Your responsibilities will include a balance of direct patient care as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) and leading clinical operations within our centers. The division of time allocated to patient care and leadership will vary based on various factors such as patient volume and market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee clinical outcomes and daily management of Medical Directors across multiple centers, ensuring a regular presence in these facilities.
• Ensure clinical operations align with market earning goals and performance plans.
• Mentor and coach Medical Directors, fostering an environment of exceptional clinical outcomes.
• Facilitate talent development for all clinical positions, including training and individual development plans.
• Create a physician-centric culture that aligns with ChenMed’s core values and service standards.
• Assist in the hiring and training of new practitioners, ensuring they are integrated into our model effectively.
• Forge strong relationships with payers, specialists, and community partners, enhancing our local social media presence.
• Maintain a positive work culture and address workplace concerns promptly.
• Review and approve referrals, providing essential back-up for utilization authorizations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Support market quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Conduct monthly scorecard reviews and collaborate on quarterly clinical metric analysis.
• Offer training to other ChenMed entities as required.
• Develop strong ties with key stakeholders and understand local market dynamics to promote clinical initiatives.
• Participate actively in cost-reduction strategies and clinical improvement efforts.
• Provide excellent patient care as a PCP approximately 20% of the time.
• Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or relevant specialty.
• A minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience; 3 years preferred.
• Preferred 1-year experience as a Medical Director or similar role with Medicare or Medicaid populations.
• Board eligibility required; Board Certification is preferred.
• Active medical license in the state of practice.
• Demonstrated history of high performance in clinical leadership.
• Experience in population risk management or chronic disease care management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 30% of the time.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.

Salary Range: $238,832 - $341,189
