Join Our Team as a Crater I

In this exciting role, you will play a vital part in preparing and assembling wooden containers to safely pack and ship large, heavy products, and fragile items.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Constructing custom boxes, crates, or skids for domestic and international shipments.
• Selecting appropriate materials for packing and methods to secure products during transport.
• Checking orders against bills of material to ensure completeness, and reporting any discrepancies.
• Assembling orders and moving components to designated locations using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or hoists.
• Recording shipment details, including dates and quantities, and verifying with initials.
• Labeling crates and packages with the corresponding sales order numbers.
• Ensuring a safe and organized working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.
• Assisting in training team members on basic crating tasks as needed.
• Inspecting work before transferring it to the next operation.
• Completing production and quality documentation.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Have preferably 0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or possess basic carpentry skills.
• Are proficient in safely using small hand and power tools.
• Have experience using table and band saws.
• Can perform basic mathematical calculations and accurate measurements.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Can read and comprehend instructions in English.
• Ideally, can interpret drawings and bills of material.

Physical Requirements:

• This position is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level.
• Lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, and 40 pounds frequently.
• Carrying up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Pushing or pulling weights of up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Engaging in frequent lifting, bending, walking, and standing.

The pay range is typically between $20 - $23 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
