Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong mainframe development expertise to support production systems and implement enhancements based on regulatory and business requirements. This role involves analyzing requirements, designing complex systems, and providing ongoing application maintenance and support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business requirements and design complex systems
  • Develop applications according to design specifications
  • Perform unit testing and ensure code quality
  • Provide application maintenance and production support
  • Develop and maintain system documentation
  • Participate in after-hours production support on a rotating basis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
Required Qualifications
  • 9+ years of mainframe software development experience
  • Experience with Annuity Products or Life Insurance Products (preferably both)
  • Expertise in:
    • COBOL
    • JCL
    • DB2
    • SQL
    • CICS
    • File Aid
    • XPEDITER
    • Changeman
  • 4+ years of experience with DXC's Vantage One (VTG) and/or wmA systems
  • Ability to provide one week of after-hours production support every three months
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Java (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools
