Job Summary

This role involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to produce cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs for physicians to aid in diagnosing and treating patients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
    • Current or temporary license from the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
    • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in computed tomography.
  • Additionally, one of the following along with documented training in diagnostic CT exams:
    • Registered Radiology Technologist by the ARRT (ARRT-R) or
    • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the ARRT (ARRT-N) or
    • Certification by the NMTCB.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist or two years in a Radiological Technologist role with CT training, preferred.
  • Ability to assist in lifting and maneuvering patients safely with others.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform CT scans: Prep patients, explain procedures, administer contrast when needed, position patients correctly, select imaging techniques, and ensure high-quality scans.
  • Enter and monitor patient data efficiently.
  • Conduct quality assurance on CT equipment and assist with applications for ACR and other accreditations.
  • Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment issues to management.
  • Availability for emergency calls, potential weekend work, and floating to different locations as necessary.
  • Ensure safe care practices for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to hospital policies within budgetary constraints.
  • Promote personal and professional growth through mandatory education and competency skills. Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing compassionate and personalized experiences for all community members, upholding Memorial Hermann's service standards.
