What You'll Do:

  • Lead a diverse range of technology projects alongside a talented team of developers, focusing on distributed microservices and full stack systems to develop solutions that align with the company's regulatory requirements.

  • Stay informed on the latest tech trends, engage in experimentation with emerging technologies, participate in technology communities, and mentor fellow engineers.

  • Collaborate effectively with digital product managers to deliver powerful cloud-based solutions that enhance the financial well-being of millions of Americans.

  • Utilize your expertise in languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, as well as Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

  • At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service

  • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks

  • 1+ years of experience in people management

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies

The salary for this role varies by location and is set between $193,400 - $220,700 for Lead Software Engineer roles in McLean, VA, and $175,800 - $200,700 in Richmond, VA. Candidates in other locations will be subject to respective salary ranges.
