Maintenance Technician

This position has the responsibility to assist the Maintenance Department in routine maintenance and functionality of the Anderson Campus.

Essential Functions:

  • Open and secure buildings as required.
  • Professionally assist students and staff alike.
  • Oversee daily operation of the Anderson Campus in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Daily sorting/routing/deliveries of common carriers.
  • Coordination/management of general institutional expendable supplies.
  • Building Construction-New installations, remodeling and preventive maintenance of ceilings, walls and floors.
  • Electrical-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in installation of new electrical outlets and cabling.
  • Plumbing-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in plumbing installation.
  • Equipment-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in preventive maintenance/repair of motorized and specialized equipment.
  • Grounds-weed control, landscaping, trimming, clean parking lots, driveways and sidewalks.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to part-time and temporary employees..
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager as needed.

Minimum job requirements (education, experience, and skills) required to perform essential functions:
  • High school diploma or GED, proven experience in the building trades preferred.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
  • Punctual, well groomed, dependable and able to get along well with others.
  • Strong organizational abilities, basic math/bookkeeping skills
  • General computer literacy (or be willing to receive immediate training)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experiences in the building trades preferred.
