Location: 715 Fountain Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601

The Demolding Operator is responsible for removing finished products from molds and preparing molds for the next production cycle. This role requires strong teamwork and communication with Peelers and Mixers to ensure consistent product quality. Additional responsibilities include assisting with SOP creation, production documentation, inventory data entry, and cross-training in other functions as needed. Attendance at departmental, production, safety, and company meetings is required.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Demolding Process (40%)
    • Conduct visual inspections and perform preventive maintenance in the demolding area.
    • Retrieve molds from staging and operate hoist to position molds.
    • Use impact wrench to open molds and secure tooling connections.
    • Remove center core and cylinder, weigh product, and record data in the system.
    • Stage cured cylinders and prep molds for next use (cleaning, waxing, replacing core).
  • Quality Control (20%)
    • Adhere to all quality guidelines and inspect products throughout the process.
  • Equipment Operation (20%)
    • Operate hoist, forklift, mold lift cart, and impact wrench safely.
  • Housekeeping & Maintenance (10%)
    • Maintain a clean work area, operate grinding machine as needed, report maintenance issues, and organize labels for molds.
  • Data Entry (5%)
    • Utilize computer systems to log in, enter/review production data, and manage work orders.
Secondary Duties (5%)
  • Cross-train and assist in other departmental functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or 4+ years of machine operator/manufacturing experience.
  • English fluency (read, write, speak).
  • Forklift certification/experience preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience desired.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Comfortable with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.
  • Safety-conscious and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands safely.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing setting with exposure to high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous fumes, extreme heat, loud noise, and dust.
  • PPE required: safety glasses, steel/composite toe boots, ear protection.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to exert up to 130 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly (with assistance or equipment as needed).
  • Manual dexterity for material handling and equipment operation.
  • Effective communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow safety policies and maintain productivity standards.
