Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support comprehensive technical solutions using advanced development tools.

  • Partner with experienced developers specializing in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.

  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python, and work with both Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases alongside cloud data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.

  • Stay on the cutting edge of technology trends, innovate with new tools, engage in tech communities, and mentor fellow engineers.

  • Collaborate closely with digital product managers to develop impactful cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans.

  • Conduct unit testing and collaborate on code reviews to ensure high-quality, efficient, and elegantly designed code.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in application development (Internship experience excluded).

  • At least 1 year of experience with big data technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of application development experience, including Python, SQL, or Scala.

  • 2+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • 3+ years in distributed data/computing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, MySQL).

  • 2+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications.

  • 2+ years with NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • 2+ years in data warehousing (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake).

  • 3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting.

  • 2+ years utilizing Agile engineering practices.

The salary range for this role in McLean, VA is $158,600 - $181,000 and in Richmond, VA is $144,200 - $164,600. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation as well.
