JOB SUMMARY:

As a CDL A Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in serving our customers by safely transporting products from the warehouse using a tractor trailer to various customer locations. Your responsibilities will include proper delivery and unloading of products according to customer invoices and company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unload products from the trailer, either by hand or using a hand cart, down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions, ensuring products are placed in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards.
• Complete all necessary paperwork as per established guidelines, including DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, and maintenance reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Adhere strictly to all food safety protocols as specified, ensuring proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle and that products are handled to prevent contamination.
• Establish strong relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service and maintaining clear communication.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A high school diploma/GED or equivalent, plus one (1) year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school may also be considered in lieu of a high school diploma.
• Ability to read and speak English to converse with the general public, understand highway signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, must be insurable for vehicle operation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting and delivery practices.
• Skill in driving over long distances, communicating with customers, and resolving issues.
• Ability to operate a tractor-trailer during day and night, stay alert, meet minimum productivity levels, handle various products, and communicate effectively in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role demands regular sitting, talking, and hearing. Drivers will frequently lift, push, or move products weighing up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 350 pounds using a hand cart.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing these duties, you may be exposed to wet, hot, cold, and humid conditions. Overnight schedules, including weekends and holidays, may be required to meet customer needs.
