Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians — ABEM/AOBEM or FM-trained with strong Emergency Medicine experience — for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in Meridian, Mississippi.
This assignment coincides with the launch of a new Emergency Medicine management program at a busy Level III Trauma Center. Physicians will have the rare chance to shape culture, workflow, and best practices from day one.

Assignment Snapshot
- Location: Meridian, Mississippi
- Facility Type: Regional Hospital | Level III Trauma Center
- Start Date: January 2026 (Program Go-Live: December 2025)
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time blocks (flexible)
- Shifts: Combination of days, swings, and nights (details released during onboarding)
- Coverage Model:
- 36 hours of physician coverage per day
- 17 hours of NP/PA coverage per day
- EMR: Epic
- Annual ED Volume: ~33,350
- Hospital Beds: 260
Emergency Physicians will provide full-scope care including:
- Evaluation and management of all acuity levels, all ages
- Rapid decision-making in a busy trauma environment
- Supervision of NP/PA team members when scheduled concurrently
- Efficient documentation in Epic
- Standard Emergency Medicine procedures (within specialty training and privileges)
- Participation in a culture of collaboration as the new program comes online
Candidate Requirements
Accepted Specialties
- ABEM/AOBEM
- ABFM or ABIM with strong Emergency Medicine experience (required)
- Active & Unrestricted Mississippi Medical License (or ability to obtain)
- DEA + Mississippi Controlled Substance Registration
- ACLS, BLS, ATLS (ATLS may be waived for ABEM)
- 2+ years of emergency medicine experience strongly preferred
- Prior trauma experience helpful, not required
- Historic program launch — shape culture from day one
- Long-term scheduling stability
- High-volume Level III Trauma Center
- Modern systems including Epic EMR
- Full travel & malpractice coverage provided
- Rhino Medical’s white-glove credentialing, logistics, and scheduling support
