iENG Design is seeking a qualified professional to join our National Project Management team. We are a full-service engineering and design firm specializing in nationwide conceptual design, BIM/3D modeling, procurement, and mechanical construction management. We are currently looking for a Traveling Project Manager to join our National Project Management team located at our office in Chesterfield, MO. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience as a Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or General Construction Project Manager or in a similar role and is willing to travel a minimum of 15-25% of the time. This person will be responsible for managing complex mechanical and plumbing projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and satisfactory completion.
Primary responsibilities for iENGs Traveling Project Manager include:
- Managing and coordinating mechanical/plumbing construction projects from conception to completion.
- Fully understanding all projects in-depth, enabling yourself to order equipment and materials, develop billings, complete and manage RFIs and change orders, as well as prepare and review submittals and distribute that information to the project team.
- Developing & issuing RFPs (Request for Proposal), reviewing prospective subcontractor proposals, issuing subcontracts, and effectively managing subcontractors and their scope of work to meet project milestones and overall schedule.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contract/subcontract.
- Scheduling & planning ahead for both short- and long-term project milestones and goals.
- Estimating and selling projects of various types: plan/spec, design/assist, design/build.
- Overseeing the preparation of fabrication shop work packages and possessing a strong understanding of the content including detail drawing review, material take-off, and buyout and man-hour fabrication.
- Working hand in hand with our companys Safety Department to analyze, manage and mitigate project risks, as well as ensure safety on the jobsites. This also includes overseeing all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Ensuring contractual conditions of performance are met.
Primary qualifications for iENGs Traveling Project Manager include:
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or General Construction.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven working experience in the Mechanical Construction industry.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 15-25% of the time; opportunities to travel as much as full time on-site depending on project needs and candidate's desire to travel.
- Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages and overall strong computer skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills.
- Possesses a strong personal commitment to long-term and meaningful goals.
- Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while multitasking with changing priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously out of state.
- Demonstrate confidence in their knowledge, committed to researching answers, and finding the right solutions for things they do not know.
