Responsible for performing and assisting with cardiac diagnostic testing procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient and equipment for all stress testing procedures.
    • Check the tech worklist for patient arrival and ensure correct physician order and ordering codes are in Epic. Inform front desk staff, nurse or supervisor before patient is brought back for test/procedure if order or codes are not correct.
  • Apply 24 hour Holter monitors and event monitors on patients. Download returned Holter monitors into system.
    • Check the tech worklist for patient arrival and ensure correct physician order and ordering codes are in Epic. Inform front desk staff, nurse or supervisor before patient is brought back for test/procedure if order or codes are not correct.
  • Perform PVRs.
    • Verify physician order on tech worklist in Epic. Complete Epic tech worklist process. Inform front desk staff, nurse or supervisor before patient is brought back for test/procedure if order is not correct.
  • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned.
    • Complete pre-testing Covid checks to ensure patients have Covid test order, are scheduled for the Covid test and have completed test before exercise stress testing procedures. Document in note on tech work list.



Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant Certification

Experience

Minimum two years experience in a hospital or medical office setting; preferably Cardiology.

Licence

Certified medical assistant, certified nurse assistant or patient care technician.

Physical Demand

Requires extended periods of sitting, walking and standing. Moderate unassisted lifting to 30 lbs.
