Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool position covering cardiac telemetry and critical care units, requiring an active IL RN license and strong cardiac experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a hospital Float Pool covering Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, CPCU, Med-Surg Ortho, and telemetry units
  • Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Float between multiple adult care units as needed
  • Care for patients with cardiac, neuro, step-down, and med-surg cases
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered care
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans
  • Document care and interventions according to established standards of care
  • Participate in performance improvement activities within the department
  • Provide clinical expertise to support other units and departments
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required
Requirements
  • Active RN license from the state of Illinois, currently in hand
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS or BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Extensive cardiac nursing experience required
