ADG is the largest veterinary dermatology network in the U.S., renowned for offering exceptional specialty care to pets suffering from various skin conditions. With over 40 locations nationwide and a team of more than 90 skilled doctors, we lead the way in clinical practice, research, and education in the field of veterinary dermatology. Our commitment extends beyond patient care to include drug and product development as well as clinical trials. We also pride ourselves on hosting the largest dermatology residency program approved by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology to train the next generation of specialists.

We are currently seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Here’s what we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience or training in a veterinary setting is essential
  • Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Friendly and people-oriented demeanor
  • Experience in office duties including telephone and computer proficiency.
  • Must be a team player, eager to learn new techniques and embrace changes

Medical Skills Required:

  • Experience with phlebotomy
  • Animal preparation and restraint for procedures
  • Anesthetic monitoring
  • Assisting in surgical procedures
  • Wound care and bandaging
  • Ability to use a stethoscope and otoscope
  • Providing advice to pet owners on care.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and their pets
  • Surpass client expectations for service
  • Deliver compassionate nursing care as a top priority
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Conduct preliminary examinations of animals
  • Identify potential issues in patients
  • Communicate findings effectively with veterinarians
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as instructed by the veterinarian.

Education and Physical Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience required
  • Experience in veterinary dermatology preferred
  • Reliability and dependability are crucial
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stand, squat, and reach constantly throughout an 8-hour day.
