Job Overview: The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing programming support for students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders as defined by Rule 51 and Rule 52. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEP's) aligned with state and district guidelines. Located: Eagle Elementary Knd - 5th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations based on Rule 51 & 52 guidelines.
  • Interpret evaluation results and develop reports with recommendations.
  • Determine student eligibility for speech and language services based on NDE Rule 51 & 52 guidelines.
Intervention and Therapy
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with specific and measurable goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and/or group settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to improve students' communication skills in accordance with the IEP.
Collaboration and Consultation:
  • Work closely with education teachers, parents, special educators, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Provide classroom-based strategies and accommodations for students with speech language needs.
  • Utilize a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) when providing support.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, MDT meetings, and student support meetings.
  • Maintain consistent and open communication with families about student progress, goals, and concerns.
Professional Development:
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and legal requirements in psychology, education, and special education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Professional Duties:
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and assessment data.
  • Prepare reports and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance.
  • Participate in school-wide meetings, events, and other administrative activities as required.
