Senior Cybersecurity Architect

The Senior Cybersecurity Architect is a pivotal role responsible for championing agreed-upon cybersecurity architectural principles, standards, and design patterns. This position involves collaborating closely with engineering teams to develop secure products and enterprise tools for multi-cloud and on-premises environments. Focused on our most complex and high-revenue products, you will be an integrated member of the product and engineering teams. A separate function defines the architectural guidelines that you will advise teams on implementing.

As a thought leader and mentor, you will guide other cybersecurity architects by leveraging your deep expertise in designing secure software solutions. You'll play a crucial role in establishing cybersecurity standards and influencing teams across the organization to tackle unique cybersecurity risks inherent to different business units and products.

Reporting directly to the Director of Integrated Cybersecurity Architecture at Cox Automotive, your responsibilities will encompass:

• Communicating cybersecurity guidelines to both engineering and business teams, ensuring their effective adoption while providing process, procedural, and technical insights.
• Facilitating discussions with product and engineering teams to cultivate the integration of cybersecurity guidelines.
• Collaborating with portfolio stakeholders to align architectural direction with the intent of solutions.
• Leading initiatives on large-scale workload and component development, coordinating with cross-functional leaders to maintain clear communication and alignment on expectations.
• Engaging continuously with engineering teams to advise on cybersecurity risks associated with their architecture and assist in implementing relevant controls.
• Conducting workshops to develop threat models for products and enterprise tools, identifying strategies to mitigate potential threats.
• Providing security guidance for new business and technical projects, ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.
• Partnering with cybersecurity colleagues to foster a cohesive department and relay relevant business activities to internal teams.
• Participating in security initiatives and incident responses to address gaps in current designs and propose preventative solutions.
• Educating and mentoring software engineers on best practices in cybersecurity and project standards.
• Collaborating with legal and governance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual cybersecurity requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience; a master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years; a Ph.D. with at least 5 years; or at least 14 years of relevant experience.
• At least 7 years of dedicated experience in cybersecurity.
• Proficient in designing and securing AWS infrastructure and services.
• Ability to clearly convey the objectives of cybersecurity policies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong customer service, writing, and executive presentation skills.
• Proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with various cybersecurity teams to implement best practices.
• Capability to navigate complex topics with employees and senior leadership through a consultative approach.
• Experience in evaluating risks and recommending actions based on potential business impact.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity and technology architectures including zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevSecOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a sound understanding of business needs.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience in implementing change within Fortune 1000 companies.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations guiding architectural requirements.
• Experience collaborating with AI technologies to assess and enhance architectural effectiveness.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to North Hills, NY or Atlanta, GA, with a willingness to work onsite three times a week.
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in developing cybersecurity standard methodologies across various hosting and application stacks.
• Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, access controls, and security protocols.
• Hands-on experience with application security and best practices.
• Broad technology expertise, particularly in Python, .NET, Java, and various cloud service architectures.
• Experience with firewalls and other security features related to network architecture.
• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience establishing cloud-based enterprise solutions across platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Understanding of cloud containers and serverless technologies.
• Experience in sectors critical to national infrastructure.
• Background in consulting or experience with Fortune 500 companies.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or AWS.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $191,300 to $318,800 based on qualifications. Additional compensation may include incentives.
