Job Summary:
If you are a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of residents, this part-time opportunity at Douglas Manor is for you. Join our team at a facility recognized for exceptional resident-centered care, and become part of a supportive healthcare community committed to quality interactions and hands-on assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support residents with mobility needs including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Measure and document residents' vital signs, observing any changes in health status.
- Serve meals and assist residents with feeding; monitor and record their intake and output.
- Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
- Assist with incontinence care while respecting residents' dignity.
- Observe and report residents' physical and emotional status to nursing staff, providing companionship and support.
- Engage with residents, families, and the care team about residents’ needs and changes.
- Adhere to facility policies regarding infection control, safety, and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Valid CNA certification for Connecticut is required.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- A compassionate attitude toward residents; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to assist residents effectively.
- Experience in long-term care preferred but not necessary.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work collaboratively with care teams.
