Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, and management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for both technical execution and business development-working closely with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project outcomes from concept to completion.

The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering acumen, client-facing experience, and a desire to mentor junior staff while advancing into a strategic leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities and linear pipeline infrastructure
  • Collaborate with internal teams-including engineers, planners, landscape architects, and surveyors-to prepare master plans, construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports
  • Provide engineering design services and perform calculations for treatment systems and conveyance networks
  • Develop Basis of Design Reports that meet regulatory standards and client expectations
  • Coordinate with permitting agencies, utility providers, and stakeholders to move projects toward approval
  • Review and update technical specifications, ensuring quality, constructability, and compliance
  • Assist in preparing Statements of Qualifications, proposals, and fee estimates alongside the marketing and project management teams
  • Support project managers in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions
  • Present project updates to clients, stakeholders, and the public as needed
  • Actively contribute to business development and client relationship management in the municipal sector
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (ABET-accredited)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Proven experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects for municipal clients
  • Strong understanding of regulatory permitting, design standards, and approval processes
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and client interaction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • High ethical standards, strong work ethic, and self-motivation
  • Desire to mentor, train, and lead engineering staff in a consulting environment
