Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric cohorts using a blend of standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment approaches targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing mechanisms.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to formulate cohesive care frameworks.
- Provide education to patients and families to encourage progress outside the clinic environment.
- Support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, creating seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
- Ensure precise and timely documentation that complies with all state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, incorporating the latest advancements in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for diverse ages, with a strong background in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and collaborative care teams.
- Flexibility to adapt therapeutic techniques to cater to a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment and astute problem-solving skills.
- Comfort and competency in managing electronic medical records and documentation standards.
