Structural Engineer

- The Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting detailed phases of engineering work for a global business unit.
- This role involves conventional engineering practices with complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements and ensuring technical coordination across disciplines, clients, and contractors.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work within assigned disciplines.
- Perform work using client Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and relevant 2D and 3D CAD/Client tools.
- Prepare equipment or work specifications, perform bid evaluations, and provide award recommendations.
- Coordinate engineering efforts between specialty and other engineering groups, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Collaborate with other departments on technical issues, including constructability requirements and reviews.
- Plan and execute independent work requiring judgment and adaptation of engineering techniques.
- Develop new approaches to resolve technical problems.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to junior engineers or project teams.
- ssist in on-the-job training and performance evaluation of assigned personnel.
- Prepare letters, reports, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements.
- Review and check the work of subordinate engineers.
- Support a collaborative work environment promoting communication, teamwork, and innovation.
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in design engineering or related fields.
- Experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following:
Natural gas processing (liquefaction or regasification) - Coal, gas, or biomass to chemicals (e.g., methanol, ammonia)
- Petrochemicals (e.g., HDPE, LDPE, MEG, PET, PTA, PVC)
- Carbon capture and sequestration
- Solar and combined cycle power plants
- Hydrogen value chain (reforming, liquefaction, transportation, fueling stations)
- Offshore and onshore pipelines
- Desalination, raw water, demineralized water, and wastewater treatment plants.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, design systems, and engineering calculations.
- Proficiency in CAD (2D and 3D), Client, and relevant client Standard Computer Applications.
- Understanding of engineering planning and control methods, including computerized processes.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and design criteria relevant to the discipline.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- bility to manage technical direction and assign work to subordinate engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
- Professional engineering license from a recognized licensing board.
- Completion of specialized courses in relevant engineering disciplines.
- Practical work experience sufficient to demonstrate competence as a trained engineer.
- Familiarity with current process technologies and associated licensors is preferred.
