KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of general knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency care, including diagnosis, proper treatment, and transportation
- Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to ability to keep simple records and prepare reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with NWS staff and the public.
- Ability to follow directions effectively, both orally and in writing.
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and frequent exertion of over 100 pounds of force; work frequently standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; visual inspection involving small defects and small parts, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment. This position involves being on site during all events that occur after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED and one to three years as a EMT, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. After employment, you will be required to attend annual Track Services Training that is offered each year.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- North Carolina EMT Certification
- CPR Certification
- Valid Drivers License
- A copy of your EMT Certification and CPR Certification must be attached to your application. Failure to attach your certification may result in your application being rejected.
