In this position you will be responsible for the following:
- Perform complex maintenance and repair tasks in such areas as carpentry, electricity, heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC), or plumbing.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is maintained and safe for use and perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled. Make recommendations for needed repairs that will be completed by outside vendors.
- Oversee installations and repairs that are completed by outside vendors.
- Document maintenance schedules as tasks are completed and ensure future scheduling is noted. Provide updates to supervisor and stakeholders on work orders.
- Maintain landscape outside the scope of contracted services and upkeep in between services for the state grounds.
- Assist with surplus items and documentation.
- Assist with inventory control and make necessary purchases for projects.
- Any additional projects and assignments as required.
• High school diploma and two years of relevant trade experience.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
The incumbent must be able to meet the physical demands of this position that involve balancing, bending, climbing, grasping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. May be required to work outside the normal work week schedule due to emergencies or inclement weather. Frequent travel within the state.
