Job Summary and Qualifications

Shift: Nights

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver care with knowledge and skills appropriate for pediatric to geriatric patients.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic radiography, digital equipment, PACS systems, and technical procedures.
  3. Use RIS and Meditech effectively for scheduling and tracking exams.
  4. Practice infection control measures consistently.
  5. Respond proactively to urgent exam requests.
  6. Identify and rectify image artifacts.
  7. Assess situations, consider alternatives, and take action accordingly.
  8. Gather patient histories and assist radiologists as needed.
  9. Report equipment issues for timely maintenance.
  10. Manage radiographic equipment and system troubleshooting.

Additional Duties:

  1. May handle radiopharmaceuticals or contrast agents as needed.
  2. Participate in inventory management of controlled substances.
  3. Maintain a clean and stocked work area.
  4. Support the mission and vision of the healthcare system.
  5. Adhere to safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  6. Follow the Code of Conduct and report any unethical activities.
  7. Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  1. Must possess either a Certificate in Radiologic Technology or an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  2. No prior experience required, but preferred experience in a hospital setting with PACS and digital radiology is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications:

  1. Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist from the Texas Medical Board.
  2. ARRT certification required within 6 months of hire.
  3. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
