Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Firmware Engineer for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be seven months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Qualcomm audio firmware development. Expertise in USB, BR/EDR, and BLE will also be an asset.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Design, bring up, and implement real-time embedded audio system features for a Qualcomm-based headset.
  • Design, bring up, and implement production firmware publishing pipelines.
  • Develop test strategies and test plans for recurring, regular coverage.
  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is supporting firmware, drivers, and host side support for gaming accessories ecosystem.
  • Key projects: This role will contribute to writing C/C++ code to bring up core functionality and features for an wireless gaming audio headset.
  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of very few meetings, only a few regular meetings per week. Most meetings are as needed and relatively light, organic interaction as most of the team is working for the same hallway in the lab and highly collaborative. Most of the work is heads down.

Qualifications:
  • Years of Experience Required: 10+ overall years of experience in the field.
  • Degrees or certifications required: A Bachelor's degree in a related field described below is nice to see, but not required to be eligible for this role.
  • The ideal resume would contain significant previous experience working on a Qualcomm headset SDK, with Qualcomm tooling, and embedded development. Expertise in USB, BR/EDR, and BLE will also be asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Qualcomm firmware/toolchain
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with coding in C/C++
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with developing embedded systems using Qualcomm compilers and tooling
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Design Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience coding in C/C++.
  • Experience with Qualcomm audio chipsets.
  • Experience developing embedded systems using Qualcomm compilers and tooling, debug using both JTAG and other debug pods, experience using T&M equipment to debug firmware issues.
  • Experience with high volume consumer electronics device that will be battery powered and communicate over either 802.11, BT or USB.
  • Experience with wireless communications.
