A dynamic data services company located in the heart of San Francisco is seeking a Lead Data Engineer. This organization is made up of enthusiastic engineers and data specialists dedicated to an array of projects, mainly within the financial services domain, assisting organizations in constructing scalable, state-of-the-art data platforms. This role is both hands-on and full-time, involving close collaboration with the CTO and senior engineers, offering significant influence over technical direction and delivery.

The Role:

This on-site position in downtown San Francisco entails working within a tight-knit team on an exciting array of projects in a brand new office environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of end-to-end data projects, including:

  • Designing and maintaining efficient data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Integrating and sourcing third-party APIs and datasets.
  • Implementing batch and near-real-time processing in a cloud-agnostic manner.
  • Performing downstream analytics and reporting utilizing tools such as Sigma Computing and Omnium Analytics.
  • Collaborating with the CTO and the engineering team to craft innovative client solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering
  • Proficient in Python, BigQuery, and cloud platforms (GCP or equivalent)
  • Strong background in ETL processes and data pipeline construction
  • Experienced working with large-scale data

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Beam, Dataflow, Spark, or Hadoop
  • Experience with Tableau or Looker
  • Exposure to ML/AI methodologies
  • Knowledge of Kafka or Pub/Sub

This role requires working on-site 5 days a week in downtown San Francisco. The compensation ranges from $170,000 to $220,000 with a bonus potential of 15-20%.
