Job Description

AECOM is seeking for a Civil Engineering Intern to be based in the Orlando, Florida office.

Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

• Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

• Work under supervision of a project manager, task lead or senior-level team member

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field focus in Transportation from an accredited university with the intent to continue enrollment after the internship and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Capability in AutoCAD and/or Bentley CAD drafting software

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Information

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $18 to $26.
