Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) provides high-quality specimen collection and patient interaction in a fast-paced Patient Service Center environment. This role includes venipuncture, capillary collection, specimen processing, and patient communication, supporting both routine and diagnostic testing needs. The PSR I must demonstrate strong accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a positive and safe environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality venipuncture and capillary blood collection following established procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and clinical staff.
  • Process clinical and forensic specimens and ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Verify patient demographics, labeling accuracy, and required signatures.
  • Manage day-to-day activities with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Represent the organization professionally and promote high customer service standards.
  • Maintain flexibility for weekend/holiday/on-call/overtime support as needed.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required.
  • One or more years of experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
    • Required only in CA, NV, WA - not required in PA.
Required Skills
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills with pediatric and geriatric competency.
  • Ability to produce error-free work in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting workflow priorities.
