Central Processing Department Manager
Shift: 5x8 Days (Monday–Friday)
Floating: Required to both Cambridge & Everett Hospitals

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Perioperative Services, the Central Processing Department Manager oversees Operative Services and Central Processing budgets (capital & operating) across three campuses. Responsible for managing the surgical case cart system, physician preference cards, supply charging, and equipment loaner processes. Works closely with Purchasing to ensure cost-efficient and timely acquisition of supplies, equipment, and services.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience/training (or equivalent combination of education & experience)
  • Central Service Technician certification required within 1 year of employment
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) required
Certifications
  • AHA BLS — Required
  • Central Sterile Certification — Required
Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage Central Processing & Operative Services inventory (reusable, disposable & patient-charge supplies)
  2. Establish and maintain inventory standards per hospital & departmental policy
  3. Coordinate with OR Managers on supply issues affecting surgical schedules
  4. Collaborate with Operative Services, user departments & Purchasing for supply/equipment needs
  5. Conduct periodic meetings with Nurse Managers, service chiefs & physicians to assess needs
  6. Compile statistical/historical data & prepare inventory reports
  7. Develop & maintain surgical case cart system
  8. Maintain and update surgeon preference cards
  9. Maintain and update instrument kit listings
  10. Maintain backup inventory and replace missing instruments
Submission Requirements
  • Updated resume with 10+ years of matching specialty experience (travel experience highly preferred)
  • 2 recent Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor references in matching specialty
  • Valid Driver’s License with address matching applicant demographics
  • Skills checklist — matching specialty
  • Current AHA BLS
