Athletic Training Intern

Daily medical coverage for select athletic teams to include but limited to injury prevention, injury treatment, rehabilitation, recovery techniques, general medical requirements, and mental health recognition.
Accurate record keeping to include but not limited to daily injury reports, proper documentation into department EMR, and secondary insurance injury claims.
Proper effective communication to physicians, sport coaches, staff athletic trainers, strength coaches, academic faculty, and athletic administrators.
Adhering to and monitoring policies and procedures of the Marshall University Sports Medicine Department
Teaching responsibilities to include lab instruction of athletic training students and clinical preceptor to student athletic trainers.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD/Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Program Director to include but not limited to providing assistance in coverage when needed to varsity sports other than those assigned.
Requirements:
NATABOC certified
WV State licensed
BLS CPR/AED certified
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in on-field practices and games for extended periods of time.
Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities and accompany players during practices, games, and clinical appointments with physicians
