POSITION SUMMARY:
DevOps Engineer is responsible for infrastructure architecture, design, implementation and support of our cloud and automation technologies. Leader of orchestration in cloud using Infrastructure-as-code while providing self-service capabilities to IT teams Developing and implementing solutions for American Eagle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage continuous integration for software builds and deployments; including: specifying environments, tools, processes and infrastructure needs for continuous integration.
Manage Google Cloud Platform; including: designing, building, and operating distributed large-scale systems in a GCP environment.
Transition our retail store chain systems and applications through the design of service automation in cloud towards Infrastructure-as-code.
Proactively identify and grow our processes and technologies to scale to meet the global demand of the business
Analyze technology architectures and systems performance.
Maintain System lifecycle components such as licensing, Capacity, system inventory and end of life timeframes.
Work with Security and other teams to develop minimum baseline security standards.
Architecture and design of new software or hardware components for infrastructure including Cloud services.
Develop and create hardware, software, and related technology roadmaps for the system life cycle
Analyze and resolve technical system and performance tuning issues
Evaluate overall system requirements for performance, availability, interoperability, utilization and reliability
Communicate project status to project leader and manages interdependencies
Contribute to identifying resource requirements
Coordinate and oversee vendor maintenance personnel and installations
Maintain and update system procedures and documentation
Leverage in-depth technical knowledge of operating systems, servers, storage and networks
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of installed technology for assigned technology infrastructure area(s)
Keep current with trends and best practices in information technology; identify own development needs and seek out development opportunities
Cross trains co-workers
Participates in a 24x7 "On-Call" rotation and off-hour "system maintenance" activities
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical qualifications
Hands-on experience with devops tooling (IaC, GIT, CI/CD, Config Management, API integrations).
Working knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform stack
Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux and hypervisor platforms.
Working knowledge with system languages (BASH, Python, Powershell)
5+ years' experience with managing and growing large infrastructures using Automation and Cloud technologies
Working understanding and implementation of IT best practices, policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to assess risk of technical changes
Strong ability to proactively identify and evaluate incidents and problems, determining root cause
Ability to take technical direction from the platform architect and work with engineers from multiple disciplines
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving & planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
Ability to work with and influence peers and management
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced experience with devops tooling (Terraform, Packer, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Ansible Automation Platform, API integrations).
Intermediate experience with system languages (BASH, Python, Powershell)
Intermediate knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform stack
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server, Linux (RHEL preferred), Hypervisor Platforms
Working knowledge of microservices and kubernetes (GKE or OpenShift preferred)
High degree of proficiency with Google G-Suite (E-Mail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Experience with Jira for ticketing and Confluence for documentation
