JOB OPPORTUNITY: CNC Trainee - Career Change Opportunity Location: Commack, NY Pay: $21.00 / hr Shift: 1st Shift (Flexible Start/End Times)

Are you mechanically inclined? Do you have basic experience or exposure to CNC machinery and want to take your skills to the next level?

We are seeking a CNC Trainee for a premier manufacturing company in Commack. This position is perfect for someone who is great with hand tools, understands mechanical basics, and is looking for a stable, long-term career in a high-tech shop.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Mechanical Aptitude: You are more than just "handy." You understand how parts fit together and are comfortable working with tight tolerances.
  • Basic CNC Exposure: You have some basic experience or classroom knowledge regarding CNC operation, or you have worked in a machine shop environment before.
  • Tool & Gauge Proficient: You are comfortable using wrenches and power tools, and you are ready to learn precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Reliable & Professional: You have a stable work history and a "get it done" attitude.

Responsibilities

  • assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines.
  • Use hand tools to perform basic adjustments and part finishing.
  • Read basic blueprints and follow technical instructions.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet exact specifications.


The essential functions of this role include:
manual lifting up to 50lbs standing for 7 hours at one time
