Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)

Eidra, a leading innovation company, is expanding in the US market. We're seeking an experienced Web Developer - TypeScript (using Next.js) to join our product and technology group based in Chicago.

Eidra is expanding its presence in the U.S., and we're looking for a Principal Web Engineer to help drive technical excellence across our product and technology group. As a Principal Engineer, you will own the technical architecture and delivery of scalable, secure web applications used by millions. You'll be a hands-on leader, setting standards and guiding engineering teams while staying deeply involved with development and delivery.

This role is based in Chicago, with a commitment of 3 days per week at Eidra's office in the West Loop. As part of our expanding presence in the US, you will also contribute to growing Eidra's footprint in the American market, helping to establish our reputation for excellence in development, strategy, and delivery. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities at Eidra include:

Technical Leadership
  • Leading web and full stack projects and mentoring development teams.
  • Defining standards and overseeing team delivery and performance.
  • Conducting code reviews and reviewing pull requests.

    Client focused, strategic consulting skills.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity with confidence.
  • Clear and adaptable communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Architecture, Development, & Innovation
  • Demonstrated expertise in TypeScript.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Solid experience with React.js.
  • Hands-on experience with modern Next.js (App Router).
  • Advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • In-depth knowledge of state management and API integration patterns.
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Comfortable with cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)
  • E-commerce development experience.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant or multi-market architecture.
  • Experience in performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of third-party integrations (e.g., Google Maps, Apple Pay, Sift fraud detection, OneTrust, and other vendor SDKs).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Redis.
  • Knowledge of observability frameworks and related metrics.

Compensation 155k-215k annually
